If you want to experience most from what Budapest has to offer, you should try to take advantage of the many great festivals that take place here. This city has great architecture, a rich culture, plenty of nightlife, and when you combine all of these attributes, you get a great city to visit.
All year long, there are festivals in the city of Budapest, from music to cultural, and if your stay coincides with one of them, then you’re in luck.
MOL Jazz Festival
If you’re a fan of jazz, then you want to take part in this festival, which takes place in September, in the middle of the month. It is the biggest jazz event in the city and it has already seven years behind it. You will have the chance to hear both international and local jazz stars.
Museum Festival
The Museum Festival takes place during the month of May. As it happens, people from all the museums from Hungary come to the city and stage a number of cultural events during one weekend. These include crafts, arts, folk performances and music. It is probably the best chance to see a glimpse of the culture of Hungary in just a few days.
Chain Bridge Summer
Taking place during the months of June and July, the Chain Bridge festival takes place on the bridge with the same name. On both sides of the bridge you will see food vendors and musicians, creating a great atmosphere, on a great location.
Spring Festival
This is the largest festival in Budapest and it takes two weeks, during which culture and art are at their best. You have the opportunity to witness hundreds of different events all over the city, from opera to ballet and classical music, or theatre. If you’re an art lover, this festival is a must see.
